Project Veritas has published “hundreds” of leaked internal Google documents

August 20, 2019 by cybertrends

Community Organization Project Veritas reported that received from an insider 1000+ pages of internal Google documents, which, in her opinion, indicate the company’s bias against conservatives.

Documents to the project handed over
former Google employee Zachary Voorhees (Zachary
Vorhies), who first did it anonymously and then decided to reveal his
personality.

Why Voorhees decided to get in touch with reporters, he
told in an interview with Project Veritas founder James O’Keefe (James
O’Keefe).

“The reason I collected these documents was because
that I saw that something dark and evil was happening to the company, and I realized
that there will not only interfere in the elections, but also use it
interference to essentially overthrow the United States. ”

Documents Archive300 MB in size covers topics such as censorship, fake news, machine learning justice, politics, hiring practices, leadership training and psychological research.

The documents themselves look real. These are mostly slides from presentations, screenshots of correspondence and various papers. In doing so they like found out The Next Web journalists do not contain anything that cast a shadow on Google. On the contrary, these documents show the company in a positive light.

For example, Google conducts lectures and trainings on bias in machine learning, fights insults on its platforms and fake news, and works to ensure that employees of both sexes and different nationalities are represented on the staff of the company.

Meanwhile, some documents talk about a decline in the position of the far-right InfoWars website in search results, as well as a petition to exclude another such resource, Breitbart, from the ranks of AdSense publishers after the 2016 US presidential election.

In general, in addition to the personal information of some Google employees, documents do not contain
no information that would at least harm Google, TNW notes.

Moreover, among the data that were discovered, there are
and noteworthy (if true).

So, according to the documents:

Google News receives about 4,000 requests from sites per month, with only 18-25% of them receiving approval. The Google Web Spam Team works with the Google News team and can send them information about manual sanctions against sites. Google Discover there may be a “black list” of resources that cannot be shown in the recommendations stream. Google also has a concept such as “fringy search”, and the company sees its mission as “less fringy search”, which means there is no fake news in the issue, “language hatred ”, conspiracy theories and denials of famous historical, cientific or medical evidence if the search engine is sure that the user is not interested in such rezultaty.Napomnim that Google has repeatedly been accused of being biased, and among the company’s critics also means President Donald Trump.

In response to these allegations, in September 2018, Google CEO Sundar Pichai said in a letter to employees that the company
never corrected and will not adjust the search results based on
from certain political views.
