Google Launches Lite Version of Search App Worldwide

August 23, 2019 by cybertrends

A lightweight version of the Google search application – Google Go – became available for Android users around the world.

Initially, the new application was launched only in selected countries – where most citizens use low-cost Android smartphones, and the Internet connection is slow and unstable.

Google Go is optimized to work in such conditions due to the use of less memory and storage on the device. The weight of the application is only 7 MB.

In addition, Google Go also offers more advanced features such as
the ability to read found content out loud.

The app can read web pages in 28 languages. Using Google Lens, it can also recognize and articulate photo captions.

This function uses artificial intelligence, which determines which parts of the page to read and which to skip (so as not to voice text ads located between paragraphs).

In this case, users can simply listen to the text or follow
reading by highlighted words.

If the Internet connection is interrupted, then Google Go will inform
about this to the user, and as soon as the connection is resumed – the last will show
found result set.

The application is available for download at Google play.
